NEU National Strike Day - Friday 7th July 2023
Pupils in the classes below may wish to engage in some or all of the activities for their class on the strike day:
Maths - Counting to 20; how many groups of 20 items can you make? You might use; grains of rice, marbles, pebbles, pens/pencils etc.
Reading - Read your favourite book with a grown-up and then draw a picture to match the story.
Art - Collect a range of leaves, flowers, sticks and stones in the garden and arrange them in a design relating to the Gingerbread man. Take a photo and email it to the school office if you wish
Reading - If you have time, show off you brilliant reading skills by reading through your phonics book.
PE - In the garden, get several pairs of rolled up socks and place the wash basket a few steps away. Throw the socks into the basket. If you get them all in, move the basket a little further away. Keep doing this and see how far you can get.

Maths - Doubling and halving game. Click this link to play Hit the Button. Select 'Doubles' and then choose your difficulty rating.
Topic - Like Christopher Columbus, pretend you have found a new country in the middle of the ocean. Write a letter to your family to tell them about it, ready to stick it in a bottle!

Maths - Play the Coin Cruncher game here and see how far you can get. Increase the difficulty if you can!
Reading - Draw a picture of a character in your current or favourite book, based on the descriptions you can read in the text. Add words and arrows to show which parts of the description you have used.
