Welcome
Hello and Welcome to Worksop Priory Academy.
I took up my post as Head Teacher of Worksop Priory Church of England Aided Primary Academy, in September 2011. Our Academy continues a long history of education supported by the Church in this area for over four centuries.
Since its opening, Priory Academy has always enjoyed a close partnership with the Priory Church. Indeed I count us as most fortunate having such a dedicated, supportive and hard working Governing Body, many of whom are members of the Priory Church congregation.
Our aim at Priory Academy is to ensure that all children achieve their individual, holistic potential, irrespective of their own personal circumstances. We aim high and expect the children to do so too. We believe that it is the fundamental right of every child to access our curriculum in whatever way best fits their needs.
The innovative curriculum is both challenging and exciting. It has a sharp focus, within each subject area, long term plan or individual lesson, on developing new knowledge, vocabulary and concepts sequentially, so that children can intertwine their learning into meaningful composite outcomes. In a nutshell, our curriculum (or should I say, systematic programme of study) is designed to help children know more, remember more and do more.
I feel very privileged to be part of the Priory community and look forward to continuing to work with a dedicated staff team, supportive governors and parents but most importantly with our wonderful pupils.
