Wellbeing
At Worksop Priory Academy, we know how important wellbeing is. Within the school day, we ensure we promote good emotional wellbeing and teach behaviours which promote resilience and build emotional skills and knowledge. Good mental health is important for helping children and young people to develop and thrive.
Meet the Wellbeing Ambassadors
The Wellbeing Ambassadors are in school to help. You can talk to a Wellbeing Ambassador anytime about any concerns you have.
What are we doing at Priory to support wellbeing?
- In the classroom, all children have a feelings “check in” where they will place their named lollipop stick in a feelings jar with characters from “The Colour Monster”. Pupils indicate how they are feeling. This ensures pupils are aware of their feelings, and also gives an opportunity for staff to speak to pupils about their feelings.
- Bob the Worry Monster is kept near Mrs Chamber’s desk. Anyone with worries can put a named note inside Bob the Worry Monster and Mrs Chambers will check in with them.
- On the playground, we have Take5 Breathers, Negotiators and Playground Buddies to help anyone in need at play times.
- Mrs Chambers and Mrs Patterson are available for Pastoral Care at playtimes and lunchtimes.
Nott Alone 2024
In Spring 2024, some Priory Wellbeing Ambassadors attended the Nott Alone event in Newark. They learnt about looking after your wellbeing through the arts.
The ambassadors attended a street dance workshop and a beatboxing workshop in the morning. In the afternoon, there was a ‘Building Your Confidence' workshop.
Then they visited some stalls and were spoken to about different ways to look after wellbeing and different services you can use.
